Companion Community Development Alternatives (CoCoDA) facilitates the transfer of donations from the USA to the Santa Marta Scholarship Fund. Fundraising for the Santa Marta Scholarship Fund is part of CoCoDa's Youth Leadership Campaign. CoCoDA is a non-profit, 501©(3) organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana with the mission of cooperating in projects for democratic, community-based, social and economic development in Central America, and of promoting awareness and social responsibility in the United States for more just relations with Latin America. CoCoDa has worked with the community of Santa Marta for many years both by supporting community projects and by bringing US delegations to the community.
ADES, the Association for Economic and Social Development is the local Salvadoran organization that facilitates the Santa Marta scholarship program, is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that was created to attend to the economic and social needs of marginal communities in El Salvador. ADES receives the donations from US-based organizations and works directly with the scholarship students to organize the scholarship program. Please see the ADES page for more information.
Christians for Peace in El Salvador has also been involved in the community of Santa Marta. It is a faith-based organization dedicated to the mutual accompaniment with the church of the poor and marginalized communities in El Salvador. In building bridges of solidarity between communities in El Salvador and those in our home countries, we strive together for peace, justice, and human liberation. It is politically non-partisan and committed to nonviolence.
Doctors for Global Health (DGH) is a non profit organization that promotes health and human rights globally. DGH sends volunteer doctors to Santa Marta and also helps fundraise for the Santa Marta scholarship fund.
