About ADES, the Association for Economic and Social Development

ADES, the local Salvadoran organization that facilitates the Santa Marta scholarship program, receives donations from US non-profits like CoCoDA and works directly with the awarded students to organize the scholarship program.

ADES is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, founded April 15, 1993. It was created to attend to the economic and social needs of marginal communities in El Salvador, particularly the communities of repatriated war refugees in the northern zone of the department of Cabañas. The organization is centered in Sensuntepeque, El Salvador. ADES works to improve the quality of life and to develop the organizational bases to empower the communities for social and economic development strategies.

The objective of ADES is to contribute the integrated development of communities in the department of Cabañas for the purpose of improving the quality of life and developing the organizational bases to empower the communities for social and economic strategies.
